FINALLY DIALOGUE WORKS

i have genuinely spent all day trying to get this to work. thank you friendly cosmonaut dialogue system, youre not the problem its me. i deleted one line of code by accident and spent hours trying to fix it. but now everything works how i want!

Anyway! It's not easy to tell from the image, but now the player character stops when dialogue starts, and their sprites stop as well, so it's like they're standing still listening to whoever's talking to them. the only thing i want to change is having the character's name more centered in the box but aside from that this is literally exactly what i wanted!!

have also just learned how to add custom fonts! i think in the future i might try making my own.. for now im just using the same font im using here, from the Legend of Tenna ,.:]

fixed and better thanks to my brother who knows how to use gamemaker
